The Canadian Birkebeiner Society (CBS), founded in 1985, is a not-for-profit organization focused on the planning and provision of the annual Canadian Birkebeiner Ski Festival that takes place in the greater Edmonton area. The Birkie is the largest strictly classical cross-country ski event in Canada. In the spirit of the Norwegian Birkebeiner legend, the festival consists of five events ranging in distance from 2.5 km to 55 km. It turns out Dasha Gaiazova took her final international cross country ski race where her career all began - in her native Russia at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

Cross Country Alberta is hosting workshops and the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, May 31.

It will be a dynamic day, and is not to be missed! We will have three Olympic athletes joining us for talks, as well as a Canadian Sport 4 Life champion leading our workshops, and a high performance coach leading a coaching discussion.

This workshop is directed at coaches that are working with athletes in the Learning to Compete (L2C) stage of development.
