The NCCP Community Coaching (CC) is the second step in the NCCP progression. After completing the Introduction to Community Coaching training, this in-class and on-snow workshop will teach community coaches how to lead a skill development program at the club level to children in the FUNdamentals stage of development (Jackrabbits). Coaches will also learn how to teach basic cross-country skiing skills (both classic and skate), design a seasonal plan and how to select equipment and prepare skis for participants of this age.
Prerequisites: Successful completion if the Introduction to Community Coaching (ICC) either online or in-person Workshop and a minimum age of 16 years on the first day of the CC workshop. The pre-requisite for the new Introduction to Community Coaching (ICC) is the ‘Coaching Initiation in Sport’ online module for $15 available in the Locker.
Please note the new Community Coaching workshop will be taught over13 hours (1.5 day).

What to Bring: In order to be prepared for the course, please come prepared with:
- Outdoor clothing appropriate for the weather. We will be out of doors approximately 3 hours each day. Bring a change of clothing if you expect you will need to change. Ensure you have toque, mitts/gloves, extra socks.
- Pen, pencil, notebook
- Lunch, snacks and beverages. A microwave is available if needed.
- Water bottle
- Classic and skate gear, if you have.
- Trail fees: $15.00/day ($30.00). Not required if you have a seasons’ pass.
Special Notes:
Participants must have completed the ICC module on line to register in this course. Past skiing experience is an asset.
