We are pleased to announce that Sochi 2014 Olympians Dasha Gaiazova, Heidi Widmer and Amanda Ammar will be attending our AGM as guest speakers. We are sure their stories will be inspiring, and we are so excited to have them!
Heidi Widmer - One of Canada's youngest Olympians, from Banff to her first Olympics in Sochi, and the face of Canada's Women's Team en route to the 2018 Olympics.
Amanda Ammar - One of Canada's most experienced Olympians, from Onoway, Alberta, to ski at the 2006 Turino Italy and Sochi 2014 Olympics.
Dasha Gaiazova - Canada's fastest all around skier, born in Russia and moved to Quebec in 1999, became a Canadian citizen and raced at two "home" Olympics - Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014.

We are fortunate to have Dr. Vicki Harber as our keynote speaker and workshop leader. Dr. Harber's workshops will be for credit for coaches in attendance.
Vicki Harber
Harber, an exercise physiologist, and former Olympian in rowing, is one of the leading academic voices with Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L) a body seeking to improve the quality of sport and physical activity. Her paper for the organization, “The Female Athlete Perspective,” has been dramatically changing the way parents, coaches and physical education teachers think about girls’ healthy development as athletes. It’s this opportunity at the peak of her academic career to share her knowledge broadly through CS4L that’s exciting to Harber and, in many ways, the perfect junction of an academic career devoted to the study of female athlete and a lifelong love of sport.

Mike Cavaliere will be leading our coaching seminar, which will be for credit for coaches in attendance:
Mike Cavaliere, the former national team Olympic coach and current high performance director of the Alberta World Cup Academy, will be leading a discussion on coaching in Alberta immediately following our Annual General Meeting. Training for racing, and the pros and cons of different methods will be discussed, as well as the applications to our sport, particularly in the west. This discussion is open to all coaches.
